Troy First Responders Launch Community Gift Card Drive
The Troy police and fire departments are facing off in a charitable competition to benefit Troy families.
TROY, MI — The Troy police an fire departments have joined together with the goal of helping at least 100 Troy families in need through a community gift card drive.
The two agencies are asking for gift card donations for the effort. Donors will be able to cast their vote for the favorite first responders, and the agency with the highest amount of donations will “win” the competition.
Anyone can donate a gift card to any grocery store or “big box” store between Oct. 5-31 and cast a vote for their favorite first responders. Gift cards can be dropped off or mailed to the Troy Police Department, 500 W. Big Beaver Road. Along with the donation, the departments are asking to note which agency you are voting for.

Community members can follow along with the competition on the agencies’ Facebook pages. The losing agency will take on challenges issued by the rival agency, such as climbing up a ladder truck or training with the K9s.
Donated gift cards go directly to Troy families in need in time for Thanksgiving.
