Troy High DECA Teak Take Top Honors at International Virtual Competition
Troy High students placed impressively at the DECA International Competition held virtually this week. DECA stands for Distributive Education Clubs of America, which is a national association of marketing students that encourages the development of business and leadership skills through academic conferences and competitions.
Two students placed FIRST IN THE NATION, 1 student place THIRD in the nation, 2 students place TOP TEN in the nation, along with 2 more students placing TOP TWENTY in the nation. Plus, we had a few other students receive accolades for their test + role play performance. It was very exciting!! The top 3 spots in each category receive the coveted DECA Glass plaque.

Marketing teacher Wollborg was proud of her students and recognized that 2021 was the first group of students that she had had for all 4 years. This particular class had to persevere and learn to compete virtually, “It was definitely an interesting year (to say the least!)” said Wollborg, “that ended with some great accomplishments.”
