Troy Police Are Collecting Toys To Distribute In Their 'Blue Sleighs'

The Troy Police are collecting gifts for local kids in need, and officers will distribute the toys in their 'blue sleighs.'

TROY, MI — The Troy Police Department is embarking on a very special op called 'Operation Blue Sleigh' and they're asking for the public's help, according to a news release.

The mission? Troy Police Officers will be collecting gifts for local families in need on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Walmart (2001 W. Maple). The goal? Fill the “blue sleigh,” a Troy Police cruiser, with donations, which officers will deliver directly to families via their "blue sleighs" during the week before Christmas.

The Troy Police Department says they created Operation Blue Sleigh this year after they saw a huge need in the community this year.
