Troy Police Investigate Shooting At Sweet 16 Party
No one was injured during the shooting, which police said took place around 4 a.m. Saturday at Hawthorn Suites.
TROY, MI — Troy police are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday morning at a Sweet 16 party at a local hotel.
According to police, the shooting took place around 4 a.m. Saturday at Hawthorn Suites, 2600 Livernois. Five shots were fired into a hotel room through a sliding glass door, police said. No one was injured during the shooting, police said.
The hotel room was occupied by four teenagers from Roseville and Detroit who were celebrating a Sweet 16 birthday party, according to police.

Two suspects were seen running from the scene but have not been identified, police said. Police said they are unsure what the motive for the shooting is.

The suspects were described by police as two Black men ranging from 18 to 22 years old. One was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, police said. A K-9 tracked a scent from the scene to an area near the post office on Livernois, south of Big Beaver, where police said the suspects may have left in a vehicle.
