Troy Police Offer Kids Leadership Day
Kids will get to see what it's like to be a police officer, and learn about traffic stops and police investigations.

TROY, MI – A youth leadership day, meant to foster positive relationships between police and middle school-aged children will be hosted by the Troy Police on June 22. The day-long event, however, is limited to 30 participants, and kids must apply by May 14.
The scenario-based training will expose teens to topics such as traffic stops, underage drinking and police investigations. Participants will have the opportunity to play the police role. Participants also will discuss positive choices along with explanation of police procedures. Troy Police officers will serve as instructors.
This event is open to Troy residents that are in middle school during the 2017-2018 school year. This program is appropriate for any student wishing to gain insight on common police and youth interactions, as well as those who may be interested in a law enforcement career.
