Troy Police Officer Chris Huck Named CBS Detroit 'Difference Maker'
Huck earned the honor for saving a Troy family from their burning home in May.

CBS Detroit has named Troy Police Officer Christopher Huck as their "Difference Maker in the Community," according to a recent news release from the Troy Police Department.Â
Officer Huck was nominated for his life-saving efforts when he responded to a residential fire where the father was asleep on second floor with his two children. As smoke was quickly engulfing the inside of the residence, which was not equipped with smoke detectors, Huck forced open the front door, woke the family up and led them to safety outside their home.
“I am very proud of Officer Chris Huck," Troy Police Chief Gary Mayer said on Oct. 3, when Huck was honored for saving the family by the 100 Club of Detroit. "His quick response ensured that this family did not suffer tragedy."
