Troy Police Respond to Larcenies from Autos and More

Credit, check, identity theft, other fraud
700 block of Coachman, Nov. 9, 12:48 p.m.: Complainant reported she was notified by Credit Alert that an account was opened in her name at Verizon. Complainant reported she did not open this account.
Driving under influence of alcohol/drugs
Interstate-75 and West Big Beaver Road, Nov. 26, 7:09 p.m.: Troy officers responded to a vehicle accident. The responsible driver in the accident was observed to have an odor of alcohol coming from his breath. The driver admitted to drinking and failed field sobrieties. The driver, a 52-year-old from Lewiston, MI was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .15 percent.
East Maple Road and Rochester Road, Nov. 28, 2:52 a.m.: Officers stopped a vehicle after observing it fail to maintain its lane. The vehicle had an odor of intoxicants coming from inside. The driver, a 39-year-old from Detroit, failed field sobrieties and was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .15 percent.

Dequindre Road and East Long Lake Road, Nov. 28, 6:12 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. Officers detected a very strong odor of intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle. The driver was slurring her speech and had bloodshot glassy eyes. The driver, a 22-year-old from Shelby Township, failed field sobrieties and was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .20 percent.
Interstate-75 and Crooks Road, Nov. 28, 9:07 p.m.: Troy officers were dispatched on a possible drunk driver. Officers located the car and observed it swerving and randomly pressing the brakes. Officers detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana. The driver, a 46-year-old from Wixom, failed field sobrieties and was arrested for operating under the influence of drugs. A blood draw was conducted with results pending.

Rochester Road and East Long Lake Road, Nov. 29, 2:29 a.m.: Troy officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. The vehicle had a strong odor of intoxicants coming from inside. The driver had bloodshot glassy eyes and admitted to drinking. The driver was uncooperative with officers and would not get out of the vehicle. Officers had to remove him from the vehicle. The driver kept pulling away from officers and had to be restrained to be handcuffed. The driver, a 26-year-old from Rochester Hills, refused to perform field sobrieties and was arrested for resisting an officer, concealed pistol violation, and operating while intoxicated. A breath test was conducted with results .05 percent.Â
Larcenies
Wabash Technologies, 3155 W. Big Beaver Rd., Nov. 25, 5–7 p.m.: Complainant reported three Dell laptops and one Lenovo laptop were stolen from the business offices. The laptops were valued at $2,000 each.
800 block of Kirts Blvd, Nov. 26, 8:45 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Complainant reported his Schwinn Hybrid bike was stolen from the carport where it was locked to a pole.
Larcenies from autos
Associated Press, 1337 Piedmont, Nov. 26, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.: Complainant reported he parked his 2008 F-150 in the lot. When he returned he found his passenger side window shattered and his radar detector missing.
950 E. Big Beaver Rd., Nov. 27, 2–2:30 p.m.: Complainant reported she parked he vehicle in the lot, when she returned the passenger window was smashed and her radar detector was missing.
Malicious destruction of property
1000 block of Salma, Nov. 23-24, 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.: Resident reported someone smashed his mailbox and damaged the pole.
600 block of Thurber, Nov. 27, 6-9:15 p.m.: Resident advised someone smashed her mailbox off the pole.Â
