Troy Ranked 13th Best Place In The Country For First Time Homebuyers

TROY, MI — It's not just the locals that think Troy is a great place to buy a house. Data analysts agree!
Troy was ranked the 13th best place in America for first-time homebuyers, according to a new study by NerdWallet. And among Midwestern cities, Troy is the fifth top place to buy a first home.
In the study, NerdWallet data analyst Dan Tonkovich and researchers studied 448 cities across the country. They zeroed in on three big factors: affordability (e.g. the income to home price ratio and home ownership assistance programs), livability (e.g. crime statistics, school rankings) and stability (e.g. poverty and employment data).

So what makes Troy a fantastic place to call home sweet home for first-time buyers? It's sky-high livability score. Translation: It's a pretty safe place and boasts strong public schools, which are huge selling features to first-time buyers.
Other Michigan cities that cracked the top 100 best places for first-time buyers include: Livonia at #34, Farmington Hills at #45 and Sterling Heights at #60.
