Two Doses of Narcan Needed To Revive Drug Overdose Victim

Oakland County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded to the scene.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — It took two doses of Narcan to revive an unconscious man, according to a press release.

Oakland County Sheriff's Office Deputies were dispatched to the 300 block of E. Columbia Ave. in Pontiac on the report of an unconscious 38-year-old man on Dec. 14 at 8:16 p.m.

Deputies found the man in bed unresponsive and exhibiting shallow breathing. The man's mother told Deputies her son may have abused narcotics and Deputies administered a dose of Narcan.

There was no immediate response by the man, and responding paramedics administered a second dose of Narcan, at which point the man started regaining consciousness.

Paramedics transported the man to McLaren Hospital - Oakland for treatment and he is listed in stable condition.

The incident is under investigation.
