Weekend Weather Sees Chance of Rain Each Day

Metro Detroit's Father's Day weekend weather could be a little soggy.

METRO DETROIT, MI — The weekend is going to get off to a muggy start. According to the National Weather Service, Friday’s high temperature is going to hit about 89 degrees and thunderstorms could pop up after 2 p.m. Rain, the weather service says, could continue through Friday evening the low is expected to dip only to 70.

As for the rest of the Father’s Day weekend? More of the same, but Sunday looks to be a bit cooler. Here’s a detailed look at metropolitan Detroit’s weekend weather forecast:

Friday Night: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. South southwest wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. South southwest wind 7 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. Saturday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 2 a.m, then a chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72. South southwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday: A chance of showers before 2 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. West southwest wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 63.

On Monday, there’s a chance of showers after 2 p.m. and the high will near 77 degrees.
