1 Killed On I-35W Near Burnsville Parkway
The Sunday crash in Burnsville involved two semi-trucks and a four-door sedan.

BURNSVILLE, MN — Authorities are investigating a three-car crash on Interstate 35W in Burnsville that left one man dead and others injured Sunday.
On March 1 just before 7 p.m., a Mercury Grand Marquis exited from Burnsville Parkway to go southbound on I-35W and was in the right lane of traffic.
A semi out of Manitoba, Canada was on the right shoulder and started to enter into the right lane of traffic in front of the Mercury.

The driver of the Mercury attempted to move one lane to the left but was unable due to traffic. The driver of the Mercury slammed on the brakes behind the merging semi.
Another semi with Minnesota plates behind the Mercury was unable to stop and rear ended the Mercury, police said. The Mercury was pushed into the rear of the Manitoba semi, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The driver of the Mercury — Richard Joseph Segers, 82, of Savage — was transported to Fairview Ridges but later died.
A passenger in the Mercury suffered non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the semi with Minnesota plates also suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the semi out of Canada did not suffer injuries, police said.
