16-Year-Old Shot In Head In South Metro Target Parking Lot

SAVAGE, MN — Authorities are investigating after a 16-year-old boy was shot in the head Friday night in a Target parking lot. On Feb. 28 at about 7:30 p.m., the Savage Police Department responded to the west parking lot of Target on a report of a man bleeding from the head.

The teen was semi-conscious and breathing. He was located and transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center.

The boy is in a critical condition after being shot in the head, according to police. It is still unknown what led to the shooting, investigators said in a news release.

Police are actively working the investigation with the assistance from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Prior Lake Police Department, Shakopee Police Department, Burnsville Police Department and the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.
