Burnsville High Girl Takes Second at Whitetail Ridge Mountain Bike Race
On a whole, Burnsville High ranked eighth after Sunday's race.

A Burnsville High mountain bike racer got knocked from the number one spot during the last heat on Sunday, but could still clean up in the state championship.
Prior to the race at Whitetail Ridge in River Falls, Burnsville's Jordan Horner was the number one competitor among varsity girls. According to preliminary results, Horner (bearing bib number four) came in second during the varsity girls' race, just behind Roseville's Kelly Catlin.
Taylor Horner also had a good show on Sunday, placing third place in the sophomore/frosh division. Burnsville High ranked eighth, on a whole. Roseville, Duluth and Minneapolis' Washburn High came in first, second and third place, respectively.
Only one race remains: the State Championship run at Mt. Kato in Mankato, MN. The championship race is scheduled for Oct. 27.
The Burnsville-Lakeville Mountain Bike Team is relatively new. The team was established last year. It has almost doubled in size since its inaugural season, with 18 team members in all. Ten come from Burnsville High.
