Burnsville High School Awarded For Helping Students Go To College
Only one high school in Minnesota receives this award per year.
BURNSVILLE, MN— Burnsville High School has earned the American College Application Campaign’s (ACAC) 2020 School of Excellence Award for helping students apply for college, Independent School District 191 said.
Only one school per year in Minnesota receives the award per year, the district said.
The ACAC works to grow the number of first-generation college students and students from low-income families pursuing higher education, the district said.

“We are honored to be recognized for our efforts to encourage our first-generation college students and students from low-income families to apply to college or pursue other types of post-secondary credentials,” Marcia Sexton, college and career specialist for the high school, said. “Our goal has always been to have our students graduate with a plan, and part of that plan is making college accessible to every student.”
