Burnsville Kicks Off Native Plant Market
This year's plant market will be done through pre-order instead of the farmer's market style that used to occur.
BURNSVILLE, MN— The city of Burnsville has kicked off its annual Native Plant Market.
Due to the pandemic, all plants must be ordered on or before May 9 instead of the usual farmer's market style, the city said.
Orders can be picked up May 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot across from city hall, the city said.

The pick up window will be determined by last name:
- A-F - 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
- G-L - 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- M-S - 11:00 a.m. to Noon
- T-Z - Noon to 1 p.m.
The order of and payment for plants is arranged through specific vendors, and not the city, the city said.

Here is a list of this year's vendors:
- Blazing Star Gardens
- Minnesota Native Landscapes
- Natural Shore Natives (open for orders May 1-9)
- Prairie Restorations
The plant market is a way to encourage Burnsville residents to grow native plants in their yards, which helps provide food for pollinators and improve water quality, the city said.
