American Legion World Series Over for Burnsville
Burnsville Cobras lost to California in their third game of the series.

The Burnsville Cobras American Legion Baseball team fell to California 3-1 in the third round of the American Legion World Series on Sunday. With that loss, the team is out of the tournament.Â
California gained an early lead with two home runs, but the game was a close one, according to the game recap on the American Legion Baseball website.
The teams equaled each other with eight hits. Both leadoff hitters—California second baseman Chase Stafford and Minnesota left fielder Peter Nordgren—were the only players with two hits. Each team’s No. 8 hitters—California center fielder Charles Parnow and Minnesota first baseman Logan Vermeer—each had RBI singles.
Burnsville starting pitcher Cooper Mass also went six innings, allowing five hits and three walks with four strikeouts—the exact same stat line as California’s Hibbert.
In Saturday's game seven, the Cobras lost to New Jersey 8-1.Â
