COMFORCARE HOME CARE OF WEST ST. PAUL TO HOST FREE EDUCATIONAL DEMENTIA WORKSHOPS JUNE 21ST

ComForCare Home Cares of West St. Paul and Minnetonka will host free workshops imparting best practices for caring for those with dementia on June 21st at the Better Business Bureau located at 220 River Ridge Circle S., Burnsville, Minn. The workshops are part of ComForCare’s DementiaWise program, a nationwide program designed to enhance the lives of those living with dementia. ComForCare will host two workshops with Deborah Bier, PhD., Director of Special Populations, as the virtual keynote speaker. The first will begin at 11 a.m. and is intended for health care professionals. It runs until 2:15 p.m. Registered nurses and social workers can earn three continuing education units. The second educational workshop is aimed at family caregivers. It begins at 5 p.m. and runs until 6:30 p.m.

Hosted by Steve Endrizzi, owner of ComForCare St. Paul, and Scott Burglechner of ComForCare of Minnetonka, the seminars, “Game-Changing Approaches to Dementia Care for Helping Professionals” and “Game-Changing Approaches to Dementia Care for Family Caregivers,” will educate attendees about dementia and how to manage its effects. Each seminar will cover seven key concepts with an interactive component throughout each. Light refreshments will be provided at both seminars.

Headlining both workshops virtually is Deborah Bier, PhD., an expert on dementia, and certified by the Massachusetts Alzheimer's Association and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to train dementia caregivers and coach dementia families.
