Expect Traffic Delays In Burnsville As Dike Built Along I-35W

BURNSVILLE, MN — Highway 41 will close between Highway 169 near Shakopee and Chaska Boulevard in Chaska beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 26, due to the rising water levels of the Minnesota River.

Highway 41 will remain closed until the water recedes and any damage to the road can be repaired. Motorists are advised to find an alternate route, including Highway 101, in order to bypass this closure.

Drivers in Burnsville should expect delays as crews close the right lane on I-35W between Cliff Road and Black Dog Road beginning at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 27.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reminds all motorists that driving through moving water is dangerous. And that it is unlawful to drive through areas where roads are barricaded.

Vehicles can be swept away in only several inches of moving water.
