The International Festival Of Burnsville Is Coming Up

Celebrate diverse cultural heritage in the Burnsville community with music, dance, art, food and more.

BURNSVILLE, MN — Celebrate the International Festival of Burnsville (IFB) during its tenth year. Enjoy outstanding performances of different cultures, indulge in cuisines from around the world, and let your little ones splash in the Nicollet Commons water feature – or have fun with face painting, henna tattoos, balloon twister and martial arts.

Browse stunning artwork in the “Cultural Perspectives: A Global Family” art exhibit, or interact with cultural representatives at the cultural booths for first hand experience with ethnic facts and traditions.
The performance schedule is shown below:

  • 3:00 p.m. Parade of Flags and U.S. National Anthem
  • 3:10 p.m. Ha Family Entertainment Lion Dance Troupe (Chinese)
  • 3:30 p.m. McNasty Brass Band (New Orleans)
  • 4:10 p.m. Rince Na Chroi (Irish)
  • 4:40 p.m. Srazhalys (Eastern European/Central Asian)
  • 5:15 p.m. Kalpulli Taocenoxtli (Aztec)
  • 5:45 p.m. Somali Museum Dance Troupe (Somali)
  • 6:10 p.m. Hoka-Hey Singers (Native American)
  • 6:30 p.m. Bollywood Dance Scene (Indian)
  • 7:10 p.m. Tani Diakite and the Afrofunkstars (Malian)
  • 8:15 p.m. Alma Andina (Andean/South American)

In addition, mark your calendar for the Artists' Opening Night Reception for the “A Global Family” art exhibit in the Ames Center on Thursday, July 13 (6:30-7:30 p.m.). This festival is made possible in part by Minnesota voters through grants from the Minnesota State Arts Board and the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council via legislative appropriate from the Clean Water, Land & Legacy Amendment, according to a news release.
