Mary K. Weimelt, 95

Mary K. Weimelt, age 95, of Lakeville, formerly of Bloomington, passed away peacefully at Friendship Village in Bloomington, on January 15, 2013.

Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Weimelt. She is survived by her children, James Weimelt Jr., Paul (Donna) Weimelt, Margaret ‘Bobo’ (Bob) Olson, Kate (Dave) Grisham, Lissa (Bill Pew) Weimelt, Dave Weimelt (Molly Mahoney), John (Joni) Weimelt and Mark (Debra) Weimelt; grandchildren, Deb (Josh), Eric (Nicole), Robin (Jason), James, Angie, Kim, Emily, Maria and Abbie; great grandchildren, Ashley, Tony and Emory. Mary K is also survived by her sister, Frances Fair, and many other relatives and friends.

Mary K. Weimelt along with her husband Jim were longtime residents of Lakeville, moving from Bloomington in the late sixties, Mary and Jim were also longtime local business owners who with Jim's talent for growing trees and Mary's talent for bookkeeping ran a successful wholesale nursery business in Farmington for over forty years.

Mary and Jim were also members of All Saints Catholic Church , with Mary K, while in her 80's volunteering at All Saints School where she enjoyed reading with, and tutoring young students. Mary K loved driving around the local countryside seeing the beauty in the changing of the seasons, always noticing the progress of farmer’s crops, and ever appreciating yards that were beautifully landscaped.

She and Jim particularly loved sitting on their deck or in the kitchen watching deer, birds and the other wildlife that frequented their property.

Mary spent the last 6 years of her life at Friendship Village in Bloomington, where she met many new friends, received loving and attentive care, and was visited often by her children, friends and other residents. Enjoying great health most of her life, Mary K died after a very brief illness.

She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren and all who knew her. She was one of a kind.

A Memorial Mass will be held (Saturday), January 19th, 2013 at 11 am at Pax Christi Catholic Church, 12100 Pioneer Trail Eden Prairie, MN 55347 (952) 941-3150. Visitation at 10 am. Private interment at Assumption Church Cemetery, Richfield, following the luncheon. Memorials preferred to; Learning In Style School, a ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph, or Union Gospel Mission.
