Canadian Olympic Curler Jamie Korab is coming to Lakeville!

Dakota Curling is one of six stops on the worldwide Olympic Celebration Tour and is hosting special events with Jamie Korab January 26-28

Dakota Curling in historic downtown Lakeville will be one of six sites worldwide to host the Olympic Celebration Tour the weekend of January 26th – 28th.

This program, funded by a grant through the World Curling Federation, brings Olympic Medalist Athletes in Curling into local curling clubs and communities for outreach and education about the sport of curling.

Dakota Curling’s guest Olympian is Jamie Korab, a Canadian Gold Medalist in the 2006 Olympics in Turin Italy. The schedule includes a wide variety of events for all ages and interests, including both students and adults.

Friday January 26th is primarily student focused, with a visit to McGuire Middle School in the morning and an intro to curling program for home school students at Dakota Curling in the afternoon. The Lakeville High School Curling Team will also enjoy a special practice session with Olympian Jamie Korab after school on Friday.

Those interested in learning how to play can take a Learn to Curl class on either Saturday or Sunday morning, with Mr. Korab as part of the instruction team. Following each class will be a private social hour perfect for autographs and selfies.

Friday and Saturday evenings are set aside for social events with a Lakeville Pub Crawl on Friday and a Club Social and Pizza Party on Saturday night.

All events are open to the general public and all except the pub-crawl on Friday evening are family-friendly. Many events require pre-registration and may have limited tickets available.
