Lakeville Reminds Residents to Clear Fire Hydrants
Keeping an area clear around fire hydrants allows firefighters to quickly connect a hose to the hydrant.

The city of Lakeville included a reminder to residents to keep fire hydrants clear of snow in the city's latest newsletter, "Messages."
There are more than 3,000 fire hydrants in Lakeville, according to the city. For those with hydrants near their home or business, the city asks that the hydrants have a three-foot space cleared around it.
“The minutes you save in the event of a fire are critically important,” Fire Chief Mike Meyer said in the newsletter.
