MTS Minnesota Connections Academy Students Have Their Own STEM Day

Lakeville 8th grader among the nearly 75 who enjoyed all things science, math and more at the online public school event!

MTS Minnesota Connections Academy 8th grader's Henry Fafinski (L) of Lakeville and Christian Sapp (R) of Annoka enjoyed creating Non-Newtonian Fluids during the school's recent STEM Day at the school's St. Paul headquarters. Science and math teachers hosted the fun, educational, hands-on event. Nearly 75 students and family members attended to learn more about science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Minnesota Department of Education STEM Specialist Doug Paulson and Online and Digital Learning Specialist Jeff Plaman stopped by to see the activities and chat with faculty, students and parents. The school's field trips and community events offer students the chance to socialize with other Connections Academy students and family members. More than 2,000 students are currently served by its full-time faculty members, which includes state-certified teachers, school guidance counselors, special education professionals, and administrative staff.
