National Day of Prayer May 5th

National Day of Prayer gathering planned in Lakeville May 5th outside the Lakeville City Hall from noon-1 pm.

May 5th is the 65th annual National Day of Prayer for our nation. In 1776 the Continental Congress called for a day of prayer. In 1952 President Harry Truman signed a joint resolution of Congress establishing an annual national day of prayer. In 1988 President Ronald Reagan permanently designated the annual National Day of Prayer to take place on the first Thursday every May. Prayer is an important part of America's history, reflecting the faith of our founding fathers.

You are invited to join us on Thursday, May 5th from noon-1 pm outside the Lakeville City Hall, rain or shine. We will pray for God's intervention in our government, military, media, business, education, church, and family. This year the hour will be lead by Pastor David Mesaros from Christiania Lutheran Church.

There will be many prayer gatherings on May 5th, all of which can be found at www.nationaldayofprayer.org/events.
