1 Dead After Commercial Building Fire In Maple Grove: Report

Three people were in the building when the fire began, according to officials.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — One person was found dead after a commercial building caught fire in Maple Grove Tuesday night. The blaze at Hanson Implement and Storage, located on the 18000 block of Bass Lake Boulevard, began around 6 p.m.

The fatality was first reported by KSTP's Ashley Zilka.

Three people were in the building when the fire began, according to officials. One person was hospitalized, while a second was treated at the scene, KARE 11 reported. A search was launched when the third person was unaccounted for.

The building was used as storage for propane tanks, in addition to boats and RVs. The propane tanks ignited a number of small explosions while firefighters extinguished the blaze, KSTP reports.

It's not yet clear what started the fire.
