1 Missing After Large Storage Center Fire In Maple Grove

The Maple Grove storage center contained propane tanks​.


MAPLE GROVE, MN — Two people were injured and another is missing after a commercial building caught fire in Maple Grove Tuesday night. The blaze at Hanson Implement and Storage, located on the 18000 block of Bass Lake Boulevard, began around 6 p.m.

The building was used as storage for propane tanks, in addition to boats and RVs. The propane tanks ignited a number of small explosions while firefighters extinguished the blaze, KSTP reports.

Three people were in the building when the fire began. One person was hospitalized, while a second was treated at the scene, reports KARE 11.

The search for the third person continues Wednesday. It's not yet clear what started the fire.
