After Player Vomits, Twins Tell Tigers To Fumigate Clubhouse
The Minnesota Twins aren't taking any chances after several Boston Red Sox players came down with the flu and other viruses in Detroit.
The Minnesota Twins currently have the best record in the league, and they're not taking any risks when it comes to keeping their players healthy. The team reportedly asked the Detroit Tigers to have their stadium's visiting clubhouse fumigated before they arrived. Why?
Last week, several Boston Red Sox players and staff came down with the flu and other viruses during their stretch of games at Detroit's Comerica Park. The Star Tribune reported that outfielder Andrew Benintendi was vomiting in the sixth inning Saturday:
Play-by-play announcer Dave O’Brien, however, had to leave the booth midway through the game because he was too sick to continue.
At least six players including Hanley Ramirez and Mitch Moreland have been hit with the sickness. Robbie Ross Jr. was placed on the disabled list with the flu.
