'Chance Of Snow' Returns This Weekend: National Weather Service

There's both good news and bad news for fans of typical fall weather this week.

TWIN CITIES, MN — There's good news and bad news for fans of normal fall weather. Thursday will be warm and breezy, with high temperatures approaching 70.

The bad news is there's another chance for snow this weekend. The National Weather Service says there's a chance for both snow and rain Saturday morning.

It's most confident about scattered snow showers hitting the metro area north of Interstate 94.

Friday: A 10 percent chance of rain before 7 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Friday Night: A 50 percent chance of showers after 1 a.m. Increasing clouds, with a low around 35. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Saturday: A chance of snow showers, mixing with rain, then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 38. Breezy, with a north northwest wind 15 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 28. North northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west southwest after midnight.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 50. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
