Charming Charlie Closing All Minnesota Locations

ACROSS MINNESOTA — Jewelry and accessories retailer Charming Charlie has filed for bankruptcy and will close all of its 261 U.S. stores by the end of August, including three in Minnesota. The news marks another closing in what's been a rough couple of years for retailers in Illinois and nationwide.

Charming Charlie currently has these locations in Minnesota:

Woodbury Lakes, 9020 Hudson Rd. Suite 43, Woodbury

Riverdale Village, 12617 Riverdale Blvd., Coon Rapids, MN

Fountains of Arbor Lakes, 11501 Fountains Dr. N., Maple Grove, MN

The specialty retailer became known following its 2004 opening for grouping women's fashion accessories by color. However, recent times have proved tough for Charming Charlie and the retailer closed 100 locations last year, Dallas News reported.

The retailer said the decision to file for bankruptcy again was made "after the implementation of numerous cost-reduction measures" which failed to stabilize the business and ensure profitability.
