Free Trick-Or-Treat Safety Supplies At Maple Grove AAA
Kids are much more likely to be struck by a car on Halloween than any other day of the year. Make sure you stay visible on Oct. 31.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — Children are four times more likely to be struck by a motor vehicle on Halloween than any other day of the year. This is especially alarming considering more than 40 million children between the ages of five and 14 trick-or-treated in the United States in 2015.
In an effort to help keep trick-or-treaters safe, local AAA offices will be giving out free safety kits to parents and kids at all AAA Twin Cities locations from Monday, Oct. 23 through Tuesday, Oct. 31.
“We want drivers to put the phone away, slow down, drive sober, and watch for children in the street,” said Mike Torkelson, Licensed Driving Instructor for AAA Minneapolis, in a statement. “And a few tips for parents: plan a route ahead of time, check your children’s costumes, and buckle up.”
