Lightning Bolt Crumbles Highway Near Detroit Lakes
This is what happens when millions of volts of electricity strike a roadway in Minnesota.
BECKER COUNTY, MN — It's rare, but when it happens, it creates quite an impact. The Minnesota Department of Transportation Wednesday shared photos after a lightning strike hit Highway 10 west of Detroit Lakes.
If you encounter a road crater made by lightning, or any kind of hazard on a highway or interstate, call 911 and be prepared to describe its location.
