Maple Grove Football Loses State Quarterfinal

While Maple Grove Senior High football fans may be sad for their team's 6A state tournament loss, the team made a great effort against Roseville on Thursday night.

It was a tight game, but in the end, the Roseville Raiders won 24-21. The Crimson team was undefeated throughout the season.

Many fans, as mentioned on the Maple Grove Patch Facebook page, were looking for a Maple Grove vs. Osseo matchup for the state championship.

Osseo (9-1) plays Totino-Grace (8-2) at 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 at the Metrodome. The Orioles are headed to the state tournament for the first time in 19 years after a 17-14 win versus the Prior Lake Lakers on Nov. 1.
