Maple Grove Saw The Most Snow In The Twin Cities This Weekend
The historic April storm dumped a lot of snow on the northwest metro community this past weekend.

MAPLE GROVE, MN — A lot of snow fell in the Twin Cities this past weekend, but no metro community saw quite as much snow as Maple Grove. A total of 22 inches of snow fell in the city between Friday and Sunday, according to a preliminary recording from the National Weather Service (NWS).
The 14.9 inches measured at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport sets a new record for the largest April snowstorm on record. Amherst, Wisconsin's 33 inches of snowfall was the most in the region, according to the NWS.
As of Sunday, there has been 70.3 inches of snow measured MSP since Jan. 1. That sets a new record for the all-time snowiest start to a calendar year in the Twin Cities.
