Minnesota Connections Academy Recognizes Maple Grove Student

Student of the Month Award recognizes achievements in and out of the virtual classroom

Brooklyn Austin, of Maple Grove, was recently named one of Minnesota Connections Academy’s (MNCA) Students of the Month for September in recognition of her achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.

Brooklyn, a fourth-grade student at the statewide online school, was nominated by her teacher Mr. DeGroot in recognition of her hard work and positive attitude towards her school and peers. As a Student of the Month, Brooklyn will be presented with a certificate of achievement, be profiled in the Minnesota Connections Academy student newsletter and on the school’s social media pages.

Brooklyn came to Minnesota Connections Academy this year after her mother, Suzanne, had researched different online school options and determined MNCA would be the best fit for her daughter. “Initially, it was a bit challenging as there was a lot of material to get through,” Suzanne said. “We eventually found a good rhythm and Brooklyn has been enjoying her new learning experience.”
