Osseo Area Schools saw a benchmark year with student success in rigorous classes. During 2012-2013, the district has seen record-level achievement in its Advanced Placement courses and International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme.

In 2013, the number of AP Scholars hit a three-year high at 127; the number of students earning this level of recognition within the district has nearly tripled in since 2008.Â
At Maple Grove Senior High, 91 students earned recognition as follows: 47 AP Scholars; 18 AP Scholars with Honors; and 26 AP Scholars with Distinction. Aniket Ketkar was named a National AP Scholar, an designation reserved for students in the U.S. who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP exams taken and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams.

At Osseo Senior High, 36 students earned recognition as follows: 22 AP Scholars; 4 AP Scholars with Honors and 10 AP Scholars with Distinction.
AP Scholars are students who take three or more exams scoring a 3 or higher on each. AP Scholars with Honors are students who earn an average grade of 3.25 on all AP exams taken with a score of 3 or higher on four or more exams. AP Scholars with Distinction are students who earn an average score of 3.5 on all AP exams and scores of 3 or higher on five or more exams.
INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE
During the 2012-2013 school year, an all-time high of 387 Park Center Senior High students participated in the rigorous and internationally recognized IB exams. This was in increase of 32 percent over the prior year.
Additionally, the number of IB Diploma recipients more than doubled in the same time period. The IB Diploma is a prestigious academic credential that is recognized around the world as one of the highest achievements for high school students. To earn an IB Diploma, a student must take six IB exams averaging a score of at least 4 in each one; write a 4,000-word research paper; and complete more than 150 hours of service work.
The 2013 Park Center IB Diploma graduates were: Monika Agbonkhese, Uyen Dinh, Joseph Kust, Bailey Lutz, Paige Myers, Lacy Myrman, Samuel Myszkowski, Sophia Myszkowski, Rael Ogega, Sean Payette and Jolene Rotich.
