Osseo, Maple Grove Boys Hockey Teams Prepare for Section Quarterfinals
Both hockey teams will compete in the section 5AA tournament this weekend.
On Saturday, Feb. 23, the Maple Grove Crimson and the Osseo Orioles will hit the ice to compete in the Minnesota State High School League section 5AA tournament.
At 8 p.m. at the Ice Forum in Champlin, Maple Grove Senior High School boys, seeded third, will compete against number six seed Irondale. At 1 p.m. at the Coon Rapids Ice Center, eighth seed Osseo Senior High School will take on Blaine High School, the number one seed.
In a preview posted on MNHockeyHub.com, writer Loren Nelson said that the Maple Grove boys have “elbowed” their way into the competition.
“The Crimson were seeded third in a vote of the section coaches and appear to be on course for what could be a dynamite section semifinal showdown with No. 2 Centennial,” Nelson wrote.
The section semifinals will be held on Feb. 27.
