Photos: Section 5AA Hockey: Orioles Lose, Crimson Advance to Semifinals
The Maple Grove Senior High School boys hockey team will face Centennial High School on Wednesday.
The Osseo Senior High School Orioles couldn’t manage to score a goal in the Section 5AA quarterfinals Saturday. Blaine High School, seeded first, scored one goal in the first period, two in the second period and a final goal in the third period, bringing the Orioles’ season to an end.
But things went differently for Maple Grove Senior High School.
Playing against sixth seed Irondale High School, the Crimson boys found momentum right away, scoring four goals in the first period and beating Irondale 6-0.
Maple Grove, seeded third, face second seed Centennial in the semifinals on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the State Fairgrounds. The game starts at 8 p.m.
