Throughout the week, students in seventh through 12th grade at Maple Grove Junior High, Osseo Junior High, Maple Grove Senior High and Osseo Senior High will have grade specific orientations.

Monday, Aug. 19

• The Maple Grove City Council is scheduled to host a special meeting 6:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed 2014 budget and other matters. 

• Maple Grove Woman of Today will have their monthly meeting 7 p.m. at the Maple Grove Community Center. 

• G.B. Leighton performs at Town Green Maple Grove 7 p.m. on Main Street. Free event.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

• Back to School Teen Fashion Preview hosted by the Maple Grove Parks and Recreation Department and The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes. Amateur show features new and upcoming fashions. $5 per person 6:30-8 p.m. at the Maple Grove Community Center.

• Daily Dose Café hosts live music featuring Bjorn Briel 5:30-7:30 p.m.

• Alison Scott and Kevin Bowe perform live at 7 p.m. at Maple Grove Town Green on Main Street. Free event. 

Thursday, Aug. 22

• 1 p.m. Senior Fashion Flair fashion show at 1 p.m. $10 per person, includes lunch and gift bag. More information and tickets at Maple Grove Senior Center.

• Tricia and the Toonies (family music) live at 11 a.m. at Maple Grove Town Green. Free event.

• Maple Grove Arts Centers presents Comedy on the Green 7 p.m. at Maple Grove Town Green. Free event. 

Friday, Aug. 23

• Movies by moonlight at Maple Grove Town Green features “Cool Runnings” beginning at dusk. Free Event.

Saturday, Aug. 24

• Shopping Vendor Event 10 a.m. at the Maple Grove Community Center (room 124).

• Kids’ Health and Safety Day at Trillium Chiropractic, 13563 Grove Drive starting at 11 a.m. includes complimentary food and beverages, inflatables, face painting and more. Free event.

• Book signing at 1 p.m. with author children’s author Anastacia Hawkins at Studio at Rush Creek, 9481 Garland Lane North.

• Rocket Club performs at The Lookout Bar and Grill, 8672 Pineview Lane starting at 6 p.m.
