TONIGHT: District 279 Set to Decide on 2013 Budget Cuts
After community feedback meetings, surveys, and two work sessions, school board members are scheduled to make a decision on the proposed budget cuts that will impact the district over the next two years.

It’s been a long time coming, but finally, at their school board meeting tonight, March 5, Osseo Area Schools board members will review the proposed budget for fiscal year 2014 and make a decision on what cuts will be made.
Board members have been working on plans to cut $11 million over the next two years (2013-14 and 2014-15 school years).
Transportation, athletics and student-teacher ratios will all change in some capacity if the school board adopts the proposed budget.
Three community feedback forums, a survey, and two budget work sessions have allowed board members to gather necessary information and refine the proposed cuts, which were first laid out at a Feb. 5 meeting.
The budget meeting will be live-streamed on the District’s website tonight. It begins at 8 p.m. Check back with Maple Grove Patch for updates.
