Winter Storm Warning Continues for Maple Grove
The National Weather Service in Chanhassen has issued a winter storm warning for the Twin Cities and surrounding areas, including Hennepin County - prompting the closure of the District 279 and area schools.

March 5, 2013 -Snow continues to come in Maple Grove and the Twin Cities area as Hennepin County remains under a winter storm warning Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The warning remains in effect until noon today. Four to seven inches of snow is forecast to fall.
Weather and road conditions prompted several schools in Maple Grove to close today.

The Osseo School District announced this morning there will be no school today, due to the inclement weather conditions.
The school district canceled classes early Tuesday morning after heavy snow fell overnight, with up to six to eight inches on the ground now from Winter Storm Saturn.

On the District 279 website Tuesday morning, it stated:
*** School is cancelled today, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 ***
All ISD 279-Osseo Area Schools and programs are closed today due to the weather and road conditions. All buildings are closed, and all afternoon and evening activities (except for the School Board meeting) are cancelled.
Please plan to have your student return to school tomorrow.
Heritage Christian Academy in Maple Grove also announced a school closure Tuesday, stating in an email to parents:
Due to the weather Heritage Christian Academy will be closed today! HCA Coaches will contact athletes about their respective games and practices.
Parnassus Preparatory School in Maple Grove is also closed today, according to WCCO.com. Beacon Academy announced it's closure as well on their website, also stating after school activities are canceled.
March 4, 2013 - Yet another winter storm, the third in four weeks, is set to make its arrival in the Maple Grove area Sunday night, dropping heavy snow through Monday and bringing some windy conditions to make the morning commute difficult.Â
The National Weather Service in Chanhassen has issued a winter storm warning for this yet-to-be-named system, which is coming across the Rockies Sunday and should drop its heaviest snow overnight Sunday into Monday.Â
Weather service forecasters say that up to 12 inches of snow may fall in some areas of Minnesota including Hennepin County. Between six to 10 inches of snow is expected.
The track of the storm is still in doubt, the weather service said, but the metro should, after more than four days of above average temps and some actual snow melt, see a good dose of new precipitation.Â

* MAIN IMPACTS: SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 6 TO 10 INCHES... WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS NEAR 12 INCHES POSSIBLE BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON.
* OTHER IMPACTS: SOUTHEAST WINDS GUSTING TO AROUND 25 MPH MONDAY WILL RESULT IN SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IN OPEN AREAS.
