28-Year-Old Man Charged For Sex Trafficking At Oakdale Hotel
The Woodbury Police Department assisted in an investigation that led to the charging of a 28-year-old Blaine man with sex trafficking.

County Attorney Pete Orput Thursday announced that Dong Zhu Jiang, 28, of Blaine, has been charged with 5 counts relating to sex trafficking at hotel facilities in Oakdale.
Jiang was charged with sex trafficking, conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking, promotion of prostitution, conspiracy to promote prostitution, and concealing criminal proceeds.
Authorities say more than $27,000 was seized in relation to the last charge.

The charges came out of an investigation conducted by the Washington County Attorney’s office Human Trafficking Unit, the Woodbury Police Department and the Oakdale Police Department, according to a news release.
Orput took the opportunity to alert all hotel employees to be particularly aware of prostitution activity as outlined in the criminal complaint.

"We are gratified that this investigation was successful not only because of law enforcement’s diligence but also because of the cooperation we received from the hotel facilities involved," Orput said in a statement.
"It takes all of us being aware that sex trafficking is a major societal concern in order to combat this crime."
