Classic Suburban JV Wrestlers Make Determined Performances
Most participants of the Classic Suburban Conference JV Tournament on Saturday will make the state tournament only as spectators this year, but they are vital to their program's success.
The wrestling that took place on Saturday at South St. Paul High School won't make many headlines. It does, however, help schools with wrestling programs define them.
The Classic Suburban Conference Junior Varsity Tournament was filled with quality wrestlers. Some are younger, waiting their turn for a shot at varsity; some are more experienced wrestlers who lack talent but are filled with the heart and determination it takes to build successful wrestling programs in Minnesota.
Whatever the case may be, the JV tournament gave each athlete an opportunity to compete again, possibly for the last time this season, before March Madness and the Minnesota State High School League tournaments are upon us.
