There are countless volunteer opportunities for families in the community and ways area businesses can get involved. You do not need to currently have a student at NMFA to take part in creating what promises to be an exciting addition to North St. Paul.

According to a Gallup survey, more than 80% of principals report that recess has a positive impact on academic achievement. They also widely agreed it positively impacts social skills. NMFA Principal Therese Privette who has been involved with Minnesota charter schools since 1997, shares this sentiment.

“We are so excited to be able to help provide this unique and state-of-the-art playground as part of our school program and offerings – not just for our students, but for all of the children in our neighborhood,” said Ms. Privette. “Playtime and activity is not only a critical – and often missing – part of a healthy young lifestyle, but it also makes students better learners and performers, and provides a needed balance in the growing-up years.”
