Pedestrian Dies After Vehicle Hits Her: Oakdale Police Blotter

Nov. 3

Criminal damage to property call in the 7900 block of 9th Street North. Between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m someone unplugged a resident's three electric pumpkins and threw them in the road. Total loss is estimated at $60.

Suspicious activity call in the 8000 block of 9th Street Way North. An officer noticed pop bottles jammed in the exhaust pipe of a pickup.

Malicious mischief call near the intersection of 9th Street North and 9th Street Circle North. An officer saw pumpkins, advertisement signs and lawn ornaments in the street.

Theft call in the 1100 block of Greystone Avenue North. Between early October and Nov. 3, 2013, someone took about 20 Playskool toys from a backyard. The total loss was approximately $500.

Theft call at Fleet Farm. An 18-year-old Cottage Grove man was arrested for shoplifting 12 5-Hour Energy drinks and two Monster energy drinks.

Nov. 4

Assault call at Burger King. A Burger King manager said a customer punched him 2-3 times in the left side of his neck. At the time, the manager was asking the customer to leave the business. The officer will contact the customer.

Fatal accident in the 1100 block of Geneva Avenue North. A vehicle hit a pedestrian who was trying to cross the road with another person.

Nov. 5

An assault call in the 6600 block of 1st Street North. A 25-year-old St. Paul man was arrested for assault after a woman said he grabbed her arm to get her cell phone. The woman said her arm was in pain and she was having difficulty moving it. The man said he didn't assault her, but he violated a no-contact order.

A terroristic threats call at Tartan High School. An assistant principal reported a student had tied a string around his hand and wrist. It was so tight, staff was concerned that it was hurting the student. The student told the "officer he will cut his hand and wrist off if the officer took off the string." The student then said he was going to "get a gun and kill everyone." The officer took him to United Hospital for a psychological evaluation.

A theft call at Fleet Farm. A 22-year-old Oakdale man was arrested for shoplifting about $4 in merchandise.

Nov. 6

An animal complaint in the 7500 block of 16th Street Court North. A woman called to say there was a dead deer in her backyard. An officer saw the deer and could not determine the cause of death. The case was referred to a wildlife officer.

A theft call in the 7500 block of 5th Street North. Someone broke a rear hatch off a vehicle and cut padlocks off an attached trailer. They took amps, subs, a stereo, snowmobile gear, a plastic filing cabinet and a toolbox.
