Tartan High School Dance Team Competes Enthusiastically, but Misses Trip to State

Tartan competed Saturday in the 2011 Section 3AAA Dance Team Tournament at Bloomington Kennedy.

dance team competed in the 2011 Section 3AAA Dance Team Tournament held Saturday at Bloomington Kennedy High School, but failed to advance a team to next weekend's state meet.

Spring Lake Park won both the high kick and jazz divisions in the 14-team section meet. Mounds View and Henry Sibley were second and third, respectively, in the jazz category. Centennial and Eagan were second and third in the high kick competition.

A lack of numbers may have hurt Tartan. The school dance team had seven dancers in the high kick event, while many of their competitors danced two to three times as many.
