3 Private Schools In The South Metro Will Merge Into 1

TWIN CITIES, MN — Three private, Christian schools located in the south Twin Cities metro announced this week that they will merge this year. Christian Life Academy in Farmington, and Bethany Academy and Life Academy — both in Bloomington — will become United Christian Academy.

Opening fall 2019, United Christian Academy will offer Pre-K through 12th grade.

"United Christian Academy is a result of a one-of-a-kind consolidation where the leadership from each school recognized the need to provide additional educational and extracurricular opportunities to families beyond what each school was able to offer independently," officials said in a statement.

"Each school has a rich legacy of Christ-centered education and academic excellence which will continue and grow at United Christian Academy."

"We are better and stronger together," said Nancy Johnson, Bethany Academy Head of School.

United Christian Academy expects offerings to include aviation, Minnesota High School League Athletics and the fine and performing arts.

"We can do more as a larger school, making Christian education more attractive and accessible to families in the South Metro," said Darin Kindle, Christian Life Academy Administrator.

United Christian Academy will open at the location of the current Bethany Academy campus in Bloomington (4300 West 98th Street).
