Astrology & JULY, 2019: Watch Out, America!
Astrologically speaking, July is going to be an extraordinary month for the USA, even if we won't feel its full impact right away.
Get ready, here it comes: the month that cries out for staycation but ends up simply weeping and wailing because everything is going to hit the fan. Even if you can’t actually feel it now, the events of this July will leave you drained and angst-ridden…and forced to deal with many unpleasant things you’d rather ignore.
Then again, what will happen this July could have far-reaching effects that could merely haunt and disturb you now, but then come back later to bite you in the butt, maybe on Labor Day or even Christmas. Yikes!
But wait. What, exactly, am I talking about?

I’m specifically talking about this July, a month that has a solar eclipse, a lunar eclipse, and a retrograde Mercury. That’s right, dear readers, I’m talking A-S-T-R-O-L-O-G-Y.
I know, I know, you don’t believe in astrology. Well, you don’t have to believe in electricity, either, but you know that if you turn the switch on, the lights will come on. So go ahead, gentle readers, poo-poo my amateur astrological forecast. But don’t let your guard down because what’s going to happen these next 31 days will have far-reaching effects for our country.
ESPECIALLY SINCE THE SOLAR ECLIPSE OF JULY 2ND OCCURS SO CLOSE TO AMERICA’S BIRTHDAY OF JULY 4TH.

And when you’re dealing with astrology, you’re talking about the tendency for things to take place — not necessarily classic cause and effect. So I’m not saying that bad things are going to happen to our country BECAUSE there’s a solar eclipse on July 2nd. I’m saying this: STAY ALERT. BE AWAKE. PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE GOINGS-ON IN OUR NATION’S CAPITOL. SOMETHING REALLY BIG — HISTORICALLY AND FUNDAMENTALLY IMPORTANT TO OUR NATION — IS GOING TO HAPPEN.
In order to better understand these astrological developments, here’s a crash course on what’s going to happen.
Eclipses of both the sun and moon are like the Marie Kondo Method to the Nth power. They help us cleanse ourselves. They help us rid ourselves of all the clutter that’s bothering us and holding us back from reaching our true potential. So if you’ve been toying with the idea of decluttering your closets and drawers or even jam-packed garage, now will be a great time to do it. Why? Because the Universe will help you. Because the current aspects this month will make it extraordinarily easy for you to clear out and clean up. So have at it. Knock yourself out. Do it this month. It’ll be a great time for endings — for saying good-bye to the people and things you no longer need or use.
On the other hand, July won’t be an auspicious time for new beginnings. Not very favorable for starting a new job, opening a new business, or getting married. Oh, of course you can do whatever you want. You always have free will. It’s just that such new beginnings won’t work out the way you intended. Things will be so much more difficult and problematic than they should be. So if you start something big during this July you’ll probably have to start all over again later on. Especially since Mercury will go retrograde on July 7th.
When planets go retrograde, their beneficial powers go on the wane, too. That means they’re not as helpful for us as they’re supposed to be. They’re tired. They’re resting. It’s like, they’re taking a long nap. In this case, Mercury won’t go direct until July 31st. Even then, it’ll take a little while before it “wakes up” and goes back to full speed —- and returns to its full power.
Since Mercury rules travel and communication of all kinds, a retrograde Mercury spells trouble in this area. No, I’m not advising Americans to stop writing, stop talking, and start living in their basements for the next 31 days. I’m just saying you should be vigilant with your communication and travels. Go on your dream vacation, but know that the probability for it to become a nightmare will be higher than usual. Have fun, but be sure to have a back-up plan. Double check the names and dates and fine print. And don’t have a melt-down if things get screwed up. Same thing goes with communication.
(Note: If you get into a big nasty fight and have words with your sweetie, you’ll probably break up for good. Forget about any reconciliation or couples counseling. It’ll be over, REALLY OVER. Such will be the stage that’s set with these solar and lunar eclipses AND Mercury retrograde.)
What you say during a Mercury Retrograde period and what you really mean could easily be two very different things, too. Just be aware that during this month communication could backfire. Don’t start new verbal and written endeavors now. Save them for later. Just edit, revise, take care of older business and previous efforts. Just be aware that confusion has a greater chance of taking place NOW than during the other times when Mercury is direct and functioning at its usual, helpful speed.
Okay, that’s the mini-story on Mercury Retrograde and the eclipses. Want to get more detailed, more comprehensive information on these things and astrology, in general? If so, check out the work of my two favorite astrologers. British astrologer Debbi Kempton-Smith came out with a sassy paperback in the 80’s that’s still THE perfect astro-reference book. It’s called Secrets From A Stargazer’s Notebook: Making Astrology Work for You. Any confusion or skepticism about astrology you might have will be pleasantly dispelled.
Then there’s American Astrologer Susan Miller, the visionary who had the guts and the smarts to realize that astrology and the Internet could come together in ways that would be both entertaining and educational. Go to your computer for your monthly horoscope at astrologyzone.com, then stay for more info on eclipses, retrogrades, and other planetary aspects.
And now, I’m going out on a limb. Now I’m going to dabble in a little predictive astrology — something that a lot of professionals avoid because free will remains such a powerful component(and wild card) in dealing with planetary aspects. But, considering these eclipses — in the sign of Cancer with the solar eclipse and in the sign of Capricorn with the lunar eclipse of July 16th — and Mercury Retrograde, I’d say big changes are in store for this country. Hard work and hard times will also be ahead for Americans if they want to reclaim their democracy.
Remember, Pluto is now in the sign of Capricorn — the same sign it was in when America was created in 1776. Saturn, planetary ruler of Capricorn, is also in the sign of Capricorn. These two heavy-hitting outer planets are going to be opposing the Sun in Cancer during the solar eclipse of July 2nd. But Cancer is also the Sun sign that’s in the natal chart of the United States. Big changes will be underway for this country, and they’ll start this July, 2019.
Trump’s plans to redo the July 4th celebration at our nation’s capitol could not have come at a worse time. If his autocratic revisions of America’s birthday party actually do take place, they’ll also backfire. I don’t know how ugly this will get, though. There might not be a big KABOOM of criticism on July 4th, but what Trump does and says around this time will be truly inauspicious. REALLY NOT A GOOD THING FOR HIM.
Then there’s Robert Mueller’s appearance before Congress later on in the month. The full impact of his testimony might not be fully realized by everyone at this time, but what he says will definitely have consequences — not only for Trump but for our country.
Often during eclipses, secrets finally come out in the open — and this month will be no exception. Maybe it won’t be as dramatic as the Watergate hearings were for Capricorn Richard Nixon, but it’ll still be a game-changer for Gemini Donald Trump. It’ll be a lot like turning over a rock and finding so many toxic creepy-crawlies that we’ll have to call out the exterminators. So get ready.
Don’t be scared, but don’t be too surprised, either, about July’s bumpy ride.
