Bring Your Kids to Wood Lake Nature Center's 'Barnyard Boo!'

This family-friendly Halloween event in Richfield will thrill kids of all ages with a petting zoo, a trick or treat trail, and much more.

Richfield's Wood Lake Nature Center is hosting an event to thrill kids of all ages with a petting zoo with llamas, goats, pot-bellied pigs and more. This family-friendly, non-scary Halloween event on Oct. 22 is full of many activities including an interactive trick or treat trail, dramatic Halloween stories told by Read-a-Story Theater, a magician and face painting.

Trail, games, petting zoo and snacks are ongoing, magic show repeats every 25 minutes, according to a news release. It typically takes about 1.5 hours to enjoy all of the activities. Space is limited.

Tickets are $5. Friends of Wood Lake Nature Center get in free. Price includes hot cocoa and cookies for all ticket holders.

Tickets are sold for specific times (every 20 minutes between 3:00 and 6:00 pm) and must be purchased in advance at the Nature Center (6710 Lake Shore Dr).

Ticket-holders are let into the event first, then non-ticket holders are allowed in as space becomes available.

All will enjoy, but this event is mostly geared toward young children up to age 10.

Wood Lake Nature Center parking lot may be full when you arrive (volunteers will be posted in the lot)
