Dalvin Cook Tore ACL, Likely Out For The Season: Vikings

Minnesota Vikings rookie running back Dalvin Cook tore his ACL Sunday, coach Mike Zimmer confirmed.

Following a 7-14 home loss against the Detroit Lions Sunday, Minnesota Vikings head football coach Mike Zimmer confirmed in a press conference Monday that rookie running back Dalvin Cook has a torn ACL. Cook is expected to miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season. “I expect him to come back and be the same that he was," Zimmer said.

Cook was injured in the third quarter during a non-contact play Sunday where he slipped and fell.

Having a starting running back out for the season is familiar territory for Zimmer and the Vikings. In the 52 games under Zimmer, Minnesota has started a running back that wasn’t the opening-day starter in 32 games, according to the Vikings. The Vikings have have also opened 32 games in that time period without its first-team quarterback.
