Leili Fatehi Please Remain In The Race

Last Saturday, a group of party activist and friends of the incumbent State House Representative decided that the incumbent, who has been in power for three decades, should remain in office. Lets thank the incumbent for her service, but three decades is too long. Representative seats should be given to people that we think will do something, not as an award for people that did something.

This is not a debate about the past record of the incumbent; this is a debate about the future. Ms. Fatehi is better prepared to represent the community as it is now. This is a community of immigrants. Ms. Fatehi is an immigrant. This is a district of parents. Ms. Fatehi is the mother to a young child. This is a district of progressives. Ms. Fatehi provides a fresh, forward thinking platform that is sure to resonate with voters.

The incumbent should be praised for her representation for the past three decades. But it isn't the 1980s anymore. Its 2018 and the district has changed. Leili Fatehi, please remain in this race. The primary will allow voters to decide if they want a representative from three decades ago or one that is in touch with the district as it is now.
